debacle records 5

/// new batch of awesome debacle records releases to share with ya'll. please visit the bandcamp site and spend some hard earned cash.

Megabats – Solaria

"The third major Megabats release in as many years, Solaria finds our heroes mixing the heads down droney blissbeat of the previous release with some new tricks.  “Solar Eulogy” and “Enchantment” zone out into oblivion, driving forward, looking skyward.  “Virtual Reality Enthusiasts” mixes micro-loops with reverb to create something akin to a brain-dead/chiptune Steve Reich.  While “Bog Surfin’” rides a wave of filth through Technicolor dub.    Solaria is a sun prayer from under the shade of an ice cream truck.  Sticky hands on Gameboys.   Deal with it."

Mind Alien

"Super tube wormholes through the fabric of face-time.  M theory is Mind Alien Theory.  Encino Flute shredders.  Power to the greys, for they are suave fuckers.  Members of Chrome Wings and The Dead White."

LEE NOBLE

lee noble - no becoming (2011, sweat lodge guru) via the radiant now

/// heroic, grandiose, immaculate

"Q. Who is Lee Noble? A junkyard ghoul writing theme music for a closed-down carnival? An android Tokyo lounge act soldered together from obsolete, malfunctioning machinery? Or is it a degraded aural hologram singing love songs transmitted from the very soul of the universe itself? No Becoming provides little clarification, it only adds another heat-cracked layer of paint and dust to the shifting visage. Limited to 85 pro-dubbed, imprinted cassettes." sweat lodge guru

the magic place

julianna barwick - the magic place (2011)

///this album is everything that i wanted it to be

“The Magic Place was a tree on our farm,” says Louisiana-raised Brooklynite Julianna Barwick. “It was in the back pasture. It was one tree that grew up, down and around. You had to crawl in and once you were inside, it was like there were different rooms, and you could actually lay in the branches. We named it 'The Magic Place' because it really was magical—especially for a kid... and that's how I feel about my life right now—without trying to sound too hippy dippy or cosmic, this year has definitely been a magical one.”out Feb22 on asthmatic kitty
